How could I make my vehicle something that people would rather move out of the way of and ignore than tangle with?
I could cover it with tarballs. It is an old car. And I'm not much for pretense.
I
could have it painted with a trompe l'oeil scene of daggars aiming
outward all around. Maybe people would think they were real for a few
seconds.
Maybe there's some sort of skunk gun I could
install that upon impact from another would shoot stinky pellets that
would explode and stick to their car and smell as bad.
I could attach a sign that says "New Driver." Saw that once. Could work.
Or a sign that says "Wet Paint".
I've
considered getting a domain like
payMeTenThousandDollarsToTurnRightOnRed.com and posting it on a sign in
my back window to alert the person behind me now as I drive that I will
only turn right on red if they pay me $10,000 to cover my possible
ticket, possible accrued points, and the possibility that this would be
my fourth infraction within 18 months that could result in my license
being taken away, causing me to hire a chauffeur service. Well, maybe
the cost should be more than $10,000.
Obviously, this
is an art statement rather than a money making proposition since by the
time the driver behind me were actually signing the document (which I
would carry with me at the ready), the light would have turned green at
least a few times.

Those who choose to offer drive-by simplistic comments, such as "Just follow the law," "Drivers here are terrible," "You'll never win that fight," "Oh, let it go," or "All cameras should be removed," are not welcome here. I will delete these sorts of comments with no more warning than this.
I will allow comments that are backed up with reason and robust argument that enhance this discussion. Agreement is not required. A well argued point is. I am interested in hearing from people with solid knowledge about law enforcement, traffic design, and the judicial system who can explain why things need to be the way I saw them or who would like to describe how they think the system should be changed and why.
